Matulji is a small town with about 10 thousand inhabitants,
about 1 km from the Adriatic Sea (airway) and about 10 km away
from Rijeka and 5 km from Opatija. The motorway that runs from
Croatia to Slovenia and further on towards Italy (Trieste) and
Austria, passes in the vicinity of Matulji.
Other roads from those destinations either pass through Matulji
or in the vicinity or lead to Istria and Kvarner- the most important
Croatian tourist region and Rijeka- the largest Croatian port.
Matulji is also a railway station on the railway that connects
Croatia to foreign countries and other parts of Croatia (Rijeka-
Zagreb etc). There is also an international airport on the island
of Krk, which is about 50 km away from Matulji and which makes
it even more attractive..
In micro- location sense, the zone R-1 is located in the vicinity
of the motorway Rijeka- Ljubljana- Austrija and directly on
the local road D-8 from which the entire area is visible and
directly accessible from the main road.
There are also two extensions from the motorway that lead to
this zone, each at the distance of less than 3 km from zone
R-1. Let us point out that on the other side of the state road
there is another zone R-2 in which business activities are in
progress.
